After twenty five years of living in Los Angeles we relocated to a small town in North Carolina. The contrast of suddenly be surrounded by so much open space, so much quiet, and so many bountiful displays of the natural world was a revelation to me, and an almost (or complete) spiritual experience. This album is my tribute to that feeling, that whole spring and summer, of long solitary walks; to that experience of endless discovery, exposure to beauty, and to mystery, the whole privilege of being alive in, and a part of this wondrous natural world - the most indisputable voice of truth.
